Swarm

by Leah20   May 6, 2005

I sit

Gazing at the beautiful scene spread out before me

I look out upon the beautiful lake spreading its arms to greet me

I am consumed by nature

But a foreboding presence takes me from my serenity

Mosquitos threaten me just beyond my reach

Taunting me with their eerie melodies

I know that one may strike at any moment

I enclose myself

Tall barriers of fabric protect me

I hide from the pain they bring

One by one

They attack me

One by one

They fail

But I know

That if they were to swarm

I would be trapped

So I enclose myself a little tighter

And pray they don't see me.

I think you picked the wrong bug at the most mosquitoes run in packs of 3 to 5 never in the hundreds or thousands and they have no stinger. You could have given more description of your plight but that goes worth saying well nice try though take care...

This isn't your best poem, but I know how you feel. Those little pests anoy me to. Especially since I live near a swamp and a creek.
