Behind those eyes..

by Leah   May 6, 2005

Her gleaming eyes
And perfect smile
They would never know what had happened

Just a little girl, young and broken
Slowly slipping away
Because of his ways
What could she do

"No more!" she would shout
But he laughed away and carried about
The fear in her eyes was enough to be said

She cried herself to sleep at night
All the pain and anger inside
Her braking heart and bruised limbs
Where nothing compared to her wrists

What could she do
To let them know
About his ways
And his games

Everyday he hit away
Everyday she cut away
Everyday he laughed and smiled
Everyday she cried and cried

She couldn't take no more
This poor little girl
Her broken heart
Could not be fixed

She took the knife and put it in deep
The crimson fountain appeared
She slowly closed her eyes
And became the deceased

Behind those eyes you would never of guessed
This little girl and her pain
Her dark secret
Never to be found out.

Too many times does this happen, and each time I hear of another I grow raw with angry and green with sickness. Read some of my work if you find the time. Especially "scars of the world." It applies to this theme greatly.
