Hence my last words

by Shelby G.   May 6, 2005

Let the sun set
Let this day end
Let night fall
Receive and send
The message is clear

Lost and found, Dusk and dawn
Fourteen years passed of being wrong
All my questions are answered, wish granted
But I have one more request, horizons slanted
I lost everything and gained it all back
I've fixed my flaws and picked up my slack

It's getting closer to the end
I've dropped the extra weight
I let go of everything
Before it was too late

I've one more request, one more need
Before my flower becomes a seed
Before I have to start again
Before I resort to way back when-
It's funny how time flies
Quickly from naive to wise

Save me
It's getting closer to the end
Everything is twisting
The clocks are starting to bend

I thought I lost everything, I thought it was gone
But I gained it all back, now I see I was wrong
Savoring out last moments, this memorabilia, before I go
I'll try to remember you while reversing time's flow
When I'm born I'll still remember you
Your voice, Your face, The things you do

Tears have stopped
And I'm seemingly going back
Back away from pain
From a contorted heart of black

Its getting closer to my end, Every part of me
Disasters all undone, I'll be reborn and I'll see
I'll see what I'd never seen before
I'll be able to see through both window and door
I have a request before I go
Theres one more thing I'd like to know:

Why me?

Why did you choose me to have the talent of seeing the unseeable?
Why did you choose me to have the talent of feeling the unfeelable?
That indescribable feeling of everything at once
That made me feel like I stood a chance

The world is a cruel place, But I never forgot who I was
You never let my world become a blur, or become clouded in fuzz
For whatever reason you chose me, hence my final word
because I really want say it, but don't wish to be heard

Thank you for a pre-life, full of pain and strife
I'm ready to be born now, ready to experience life

Great job. One of your better ones... I'd have more insightful things to say, but I've just gotten back
