Hang In There

My Angel always tells me to hang in there...
But I can't,
Though I try.

My Angel always tells me it will be better soon...
But it never is,
Never.

My Angel always tells me to be myself...
But I don't,
For I don't know who I am.

My Angel always tells me to cheer up...
But how can I?
When my heart has just shattered
Like glass.

My Angel always tells me these things...
But they never work.

The only thing she has said to me
That I understand is...
"Let the tears flow..."

I can do that...
And it works.

    Hi Ren

    What struck me most about this poem was the line "My Angel always tells me to be myself...But I don't...For I don't know who I am".

    We so often hear people telling us to "just be ourselves" but sometimes, that is the very problem - we ourselves don't know who we are.

    I love this Ren - it's full of sad truths that I certainly can relate to.
