Corner of Darkness*

by Beautiful x Disaster   May 7, 2005

In a room full of happiness
She sits so depressed
In the corner of darkness
On a never-ending quest

A quest to happiness
A quest to success.
The opposite of what she is,
A complete mess

She can't leave her corner
Her corner full of darkness
She can't leave the memories,
That she will surely miss

So many people
Try to guide her away
But in the corner of darkness
She must stay.

Its not something
That I can explain
The complete emptiness
Is what keeps her sane.

People don't understand
Why she stays there all day
As she slowly watches
Herself decay.

In the corner of darkness
She sees only black and white
In the corner of darkness
There is nothing bright.

Memories begin to flood
Memories that bring pain
Memories so faint,
Yet so vein

In the corner of darkness
She must never leave
In the corner of darkness
She must forever grieve

She doesn't understand
And always asks why.
"Why, in the corner of darkness
Does she always want to die?"

-Inspired while deep in thought.

I don't know, I was debating between sad poems or dark poems.

I can totally relate to this poem. It hurts to read this over and over again, but that's what I've just done. I have read this about 10 times now, and each time it touches that girl in me. You have a great talent, don't waste it.
