I will remember everything

by Charlotte   May 8, 2005

I will remember you
And the way you used to be
Before the day life set you free

I will remember your breath on my skin
The warm comfort it sent shotting through my body
Hoe it made me feel slightly naughty

I will remember your voice
How it felt in my ears
And how it calmed all my fears

I will remember your touch on my skin
How it sent a warm chill down my spine
And how I knew you were all mine

I will remember how you pulled me to you to protect me
When the bus came toward our car
And how truly brave you really are

I will remember your strong arms enfolding me
As the bus ran into your back and shed your blood
While I, only felt a subtle shove

I will remember you being carried to an ambulance
How I begged to come with as your soul began to drift away
Knowing that right here at this late hour might be your last day

I will remember you covered in blood
How I held your soft hand
How I felt I was dying in quicksand

I will remember the pain
As I watched the heart monitor slowly decrease to a line
And how my breathing began to rapidly incline

I will remember your last words
The words you took with your last breath
And faded into hateful, sinful death

I will remember you eyes as they bore into mine
As you said, "I love you, please move on,"
And just like that, you were gone.
