Helping Me Through

by girlii797   May 9, 2005

I have known you since I was four.
I thought you were mean, because me you’d ignore.

Well for the past 2 ½ years, I have come to know you.
You’re not mean at all, I know by all you do.

You were there to lift my spirits, when I hit an all time low.
Your presence comforts me, although I try not to let this show.

I do get down a lot, your advice I should ask.
I’m timid and sacred so I hide behind this joyful mask.

I get your number out so you I can call.
I start to tremble and shake then I start to bawl.

You I never do call, I just sit here shaking.
I know this is one step I should be taking.

You comfort me, but you make me nervous too!
I don’t want you to see all I’m hiding. I have to watch all I do.

This is something I hope you never see.
That is, at least not in front of me.

Through all this I’m trying to say,
I still have problems, but I’ll be okay.

I thank you for helping me through.
Oh and by the way, I’m getting close to you.

*Dedicated to a friend who has helped me through a hard time in my life. He is 28 years older than me. I think of him as someone I can look up too. He is kind of like a dad (or uncle) to me and his wife is like a mom (or aunt) to me; although they have no clue. I respect and appreciate them a lot. They helped me see how to make it through*
