A daughters suicide

by Jordan   May 9, 2005

***I know that this poem is a bit long but please read it anyways because I worked really hard on it. Thanks! And all the did not s are actually didn't s***

Going into high school
She did not expect everything to change
She did not think that all of the things around her
Would ever get so rearranged

Everybody is changing
Yet she seemed to stay the same
She really did not feel like playing
In the never ending game

She did not want to go to battle
Because In the end she knew she would loose
High school is a endless drive
She woulda rather had on cruise

She would walk down the halls
With a dark circle under each eye
She would rather be on the outside
With her face up to the sky

She wished that she could go back
Where she was just 5 years old
Where life seemed so simple
And her heart felt of pure gold

The sky seemed so high up
The earth never more green
The people all around her
Could never be less mean

She got herself to thinking
She was a depressed little girl
Who wish her life traveled backward
In the same happy sort of twirl

She thought a bit harder
Wish she’d take her life away
She just didn’t want to live anymore
Not even one more day

She took the rope from daddy’s closet
Hung it from the attic’s bars
She wrote this to her family
“You’ll be safe where you are

God can not handle
The choices that I make
So in the end I decided
It was my life I would take

Tell everyone not to worry
Because the earth’s were you belong
But I am not happy
And for me this choice’s not wrong

Hugs and kisses to all of you
I now I will miss you all
Please don’t let your lives crumble
Pick them up don’t let them fall”

She clenched the paper in her hand
Stepped up on the chair
Tilted it a bit forward
Her life had ended fair

The person who found her hanging
Loved her most of all
It’s the one she really hoped
That really wouldn’t fall

Jenny of 6 years-old
Found her sister dead
Hanging from the attic
What were those last words she’d said?

“Sissy I’m sorry I called you stupid
I never even meant the words I said
I can’t believe that I was the one
Who had to find you dead!”

Mother and father sit in shock
“How did this happen before our eyes
I guess we should have listen
When we heard our daughters cries”
