True Love

I can hear the birds, they’re singing
There’s a breeze going through the air
And I never thought I’d feel this joyful
Or have a person who really cared

For once those words mean something
The three words ‘I Love You’
It doesn’t sound like an empty promise
Or a future crimson hue

I think I found my confidante
The person to be there for me
The one to catch all my tears
And tell me that I’m pretty

He’s nothing like the others
Nothing like them at all
I know because I made a mistake
And he caught me in the fall

I just hope I don’t jump too fast
I hope my heart slows down
‘Cause I don’t want to be hurt again
And be left with no one around

But I really think this is different
‘Cause I’ve asked the Lord above
And he hasn’t let anything bad happen
So I think this is true love
