The Bronze Sword

by Ed   May 11, 2005

Time passes from this earth,
where men truly find their worth,
warriors fight and leaders lea
Commoners perish as they plead.

Walking through the wood, I am lost,
Peering through the tree i see it's gloss,
It shines and sparks pride within me,
I bow and respect it as I shout with glee.

Many others yearn for its touch
but i admire it just as much.
they try to steal its withering charm
the object rejects, keeping them alarmed.

I walk slowly to this ancient piece,
that is a gift to mankind's lease.
I bow again and pick it up
Taking a sip from a much larger cup.

I have sealed the fate for many,
and have saved the lives of the plenty.
I honor my one and only lord,
for tis my true Bronze Sword.
