Hidden messages

The clouds are moving in
And it’s raining on my day
Forecast for the overcast
And it will not go away

The clouds come in so quickly
And the rain comes down in waves
Quickly rising to my head
The depths my body craves

How is it that I can see
While I’m drowning in this rain
The waters deeper than my body
I can’t see through the pain

The only way to get clear sight
Is to get my head up high
Get my head above the clouds
If only I could fly

The cinderblocks around my feet
Prevent me from escaping
Drowning isn’t all there is
My wrist the wholes are gapping

A savior comes to greet me
In my bloody water grave
It told me that to get away
I would have to just behave

I quietly sat and listened
Yes in the bottom of a lake
And it lifts me up out of the water
My bindings it did break

Through the pouring rain above
It lifted me through the clouds
Parting them before my eyes
Like the densest darkest shrouds

It told me that to make life work
I would have to take some pain
It told me to keep above the clouds
So that my world can drain

I did not understand what happened
But I did learn something new
Dreams are more than just nice thoughts
There hidden messages to you
