What Will Happen When You Face God

by Bruce Gould   May 11, 2005

You hide behind your lies,
Trying to fool people to believe you’re some one that you’re not.
You never let any one see the real you,
In fear that they will see your many imperfections.

So you hide behind your walls,
And feel good because you deceive yourself too.
But what will you do when you face God?
You can’t trick Him, He knows the truth.

For some, death will bring the first fair judgment,
But, for you my deceiving love, it will be the first true judgment.
I feel sorry for you my lovely,
You don’t know what will be coming at the end.

What will you say at the purely Gates of Heaven?
You can’t sneak into the bliss.
You won’t be able to hide behind your pretty face,
And your innocent exterior.

You look at me and see what isn't there,
You think I’m inferior to you.
And I know I'm not perfect,
But at least I let my imperfections show.

I know I wasn't the perfect boy friend,
But I gave you my heart.
I always love with every thing I’ve got,
A quality that you still seem to lack.

So you believe that I’m not good enough for you,
But some day you’ll see,
That you’re the one,
That isn’t good enough for me
