All We've Ever Known

We always said we’d be friends till the end
But we had no idea the fate we would endure
A friendship torn apart by our struggle
And the different situations that would occur

When we met we were two kids trying to find ourselves
Alone in the world without a clue
I never thought I’d ever find a true love
Till, that is, the day I found you

This love was nothing as I imagined
Not like that fake stuff you see on TV
This was a bond stronger than the world
We grew into us, instead of you and me

We found support in that ever-lasting bond
And strength in the thought of each other there
We knew as long as we had that love
We could face anything without a care

We experienced the highs and lows
We got through the worst and best
We made friends and fought off foes
And we lived through all the rest

But then we came across a path
One that was never written on the map
We were curious to were it would lead
Never knowing that our friendship it would entrap

The road was windy and filled with bumps
Constantly we had to take breaks
As we got further and further we got scared
And regretted all of our mistakes

For somewhere along the line
We lost each other in the deep forest alone
Never having to face life without one another
We had to venture out on our own

The people he met in his journey, with out me
Told him I was the bad guy that caused his strife
I feared he’d fall prey to their lies
Because I couldn’t picture him not in my life

Many miles we traveled to find that little light
I, never losing hope that we’d meet back again
Trying not to loose sight on where I came from
And how all this struggle had began

But since I’ve yet to find that place
I once was able to call my home
I must have faith I’m still in his heart
And that he hasn’t given up on all we’ve ever known
