Shaded Path

by Karl Brondehoff   May 12, 2005

I'm walking down a shaded path,
one so familiar to me,
I've walked it so many times but now it's different.
Because now you're not with me.

You used to show me the way,
in the quiet solemn steps you took,
but now your path ended,
now I must know which way to look.

This is my solemn journey,
upon which I start,
I hope I'll have a chance to be as you,
before I too depart.

In memory of Jake "Brake" Brondehoff.
