Poem for my grandmother...r.i.p.

by daniel   May 12, 2005

Shallow cloud of emptiness
fills this pilfered room
clouds from the heavens
angels with open wounds

she lies there lifeless
motionless on that bed
with him wondering
god why not me instead

and i wonder to myself
what happened in this place
was she taken with god
or selfish angels in his place

and i see
she is not there
but over me
as always she will be
will be

be there when i am sick
be there when I'm about to fall
be there watching over me
be there for me when i call

she knew when i was there
i saw it in her face
her look of despair every time wed go away

i see it every time i close my eyes
doesn't change now that shes not alive
