Friendship Lost For-ever

Having you as my friend
Truly meant more than you know
The memories and laughter
I thought would only grow.

We shared so many good times
At the cook-outs with our friends
I truly cared about you
I thought our friendship would never end.

Being the wonderful man you are
I knew you truly cared
I think you felt more than friendship
And this was to much to bare.

The day you called to tell me
You thought it would be best for things to end
I could hear the saddness in your voice
Now my heart has to mend.

Because we both were married
You knew we couldn't cross forbidden lines
Now that I understand the reason
Peace I can now find.

I respect you for your decision
But in my heart you remain
Without your friendship
My heart will never be the same.
