I Lost Myself

I lost myself so long ago, down the path of my despair
Reaching out to taunting hands, realising few did really care
And now I find I’m standing still, with no good place to go
I try to search for missing pieces but I was lost so long ago

I thought I had direction, but now my world’s a black array
I try to bring the light back, only to see more shades of grey
Every point has another angle, and so I spin in my dejection
I’m spiralling into despair again, when I thought I had direction

I lost myself so long ago, these tears won’t seem to cease
Screaming out in cold frustration for I cannot find my peace
I’m lost within a tangled crowd, with no one that I know
I try to search for familiar faces, but I was lost so long ago…
