Suspended from Society
Surrounded by criminals and druggies
To the world he fits in perfectly
At an adult state prison at only 17

Society believes he’s finally where he needs to be
By troublemakers and helpless cause
Cold concrete, orange suit and metal bars
Locked up forever, never to harm the world

Older, stronger men over powering him
Stealing food from his own tray
They’re not severed enough
So take the newest, weakling’s grub

Days without a meal
Starving with hardly any sleep
Cellmates beat him up
Anger builds up with time

Fed up with all their shit
He fought to keep his meal
Eat once within the week
His hunger drove himself insane

Breaking into violence
Determination; one against another
Ultimately leading to one’s end
A six foot grave deep in the earth

Joined God in forgiving love
A cross upon a heart
A man refusing to give up
On a boy crying for one’s love

Suspended for his mother’s love
From the help of others blind to see
The cry for help, finally can stop
finally finding a place he belongs
