A Vision

by Brad Champagne   May 13, 2005

Upon my knees, seeking grace,
Cotemplating love's embrace,
I heard a voice within my mind
Of origins beyond mankind.

"She's not the one;" the voice proclaimed,
"Least not yet," much to my shame.
The Lord then granted me the sight
Of my path through the darkening night.

From where I stood I could see
My path was in a company.
Yet for a length beyond me yet,
An uncrossed path alone is set.

Although my love is strong and fierce,
My doubts and fears it cannot pierce.
Upon this path I cannot bring
Such a young and gentile thing.

My ageless heart yet fears for this,
But I must wait to find such bliss.
Though I hope to remain a good friend,
I understand if it should end.

Beyond my own life I must look
Whilst following the Holy Book.
I know not what the future brings,
But this change is a bitter sting.

In following the Lord above,
I must remain in lesser love.

Wow. I can relate to this. Indeed, God's will is the best. It is tough, and sometimes it pulls at my heartstrings, but in the end, it's all worth it =)
I loved this poem. The flow and emotion was fantastic. Great Job!

An extremely wellwritten poem! Very very good! Thank you for your comment on my poem. And about "Fallen Angel of Music"...In a way it was true...but replace Lucifer with a different name. Same sort of deal, though. I'm not at a real liberty to discuss this kind of thing in the open, so I guess I'll leave it at that. Thank you once again for your comments. I appreciate them so much. I've read some of your stuff and I am adding you to my favorites now. :) Tata
