Poolside

by M J U   May 13, 2005

Small gatherings of faces
occupy umbrella topped tables
by the pool.
They,
are like fallen leaves
grouped in a disorderly
and unrelated fashion,
until the wind blows
and they scatter.
Oils, scents of lotions
linger on flesh,
drifting silently in the air.
A pleasant mixture
of tropical aromas
are arousing to the senses
as the heat intensifies,
the want of the cool,
refreshing water
