Society's Zombie

by Deja Marie Meriwether   May 14, 2005

She watches the fashion channel,
Intently every night.
She's on top of the latest fashions,
In Paris, Milan, and Japan.
She buys a 100$ dress,
Just to impress some guy,
Who could care less.

She turns on the radio,
And hears the newest song,
She doesn't really like it,
But it's considered cool,
So she goes along.

The poor girl thinks shes popular,
But no one really likes her,
The only friends she has,
Are Society's Zombies,
Just like her.

She truly likes punk music,
And the look of pants with holes,
She can write dark poetry,
But she never will.
She's already been media brainwashed,
And won't turn back.

She forgets,
That in the real world,
No one cares,
If you were popular in high school,
They care,
About the person you are.

Thanks to the media,
And society,
She just may,
Never know.
