Make A Wish

by Lauraballz   May 14, 2005

She treats you so unfairly when you're worthy of respect.
How is it that my closest friend could leave us both so wrecked?
You, because she takes too long to make up her own mind,
Me, because despite this fact, my feelings can't unwind.

I think you feel the same way too, your actions said so much,
Tonight when you were holding me, but too afraid to touch.
The barriers still clearly stand because we know she's there,
But she's not there, not really here, and I don't think she cares.

Your arm was just around me but I sensed we wanted more,
When you said you were too comfortable to move toward the door.
It's so not fair that her rules stand when she does not deserve you.
I'm not saying that I'm better but she does not have a clue.

She doesn't seem to realize; I don't think she ever will,
How lucky that she is to have a boy that loves her still.
Throughout the loss of everything and arguments so raw,
You stood your ground and stayed with her; refused to leave the war.

The fights that you've put up for her show how you really feel,
And you might say you're giving up, but I don't know what's real.
I hope to God it's true and you're really seeing sense,
Opening your eyes to see there's more behind this fence.

Praying that you climb the wall and reach the other side,
At last to see that I'm the one who really never lied.
I wished I didn't feel this way but now it's coming true.
I know that life is failing me and I'm falling over you.

Sorry Friend, I tried so hard to make you hear his plead,
I prayed I wouldn't come between and you'd both soon be freed.
But I can try no longer and I gave it all my best,
It's your choice if you listen but please listen to the rest.

Don't throw away another boy who only wants you near,
You've lost the one who loved you the most and didn't shed a tear.
Babe, I'm sorry but it's true, I'm falling so for you,
It's your turn now to make a wish, I just hope it comes true.

xXx
