The Days

by DeathOnMyLips911   May 15, 2005

The sunrises,
greeting the new day
by shining its light
on the vast land beneath our feet.
A family is gathered
underneath the willow trees
that sway softly, oh so softly,
in the cool- crisp wind.
Water streams down their cheeks
like horses gallop
through a mid-summer;s meadow
everyone weeps,
for the days they have known are gone.

The sun sets & rain falls,
ending this sorrowful day
by sinking beneath the horizon
this day has diminished
Pain has been felt
Underneath those willow trees
that sway softly, oh so softly,
in the cold- forbidding wind.
Rose petals scattered on the ground-
and the sound
of Amazing Grace echoes in the distance.
for the days WE have known- are gone....
