Insane

by Animus   May 15, 2005

Walking down the endless hallway,
forgetting where it leads.
The sickly green walls go on forever,
as far as the eye can see.
Passing by bared doors,
I hear the screams of the insane.

Why am I here?

Shuffling along on the white tiled floor, the smell is nauseating.
Lead through a door to a white padded room, to be left alone with no one but myself.

Why can't I move?

Blinking a few times
it all comes back.
Eyes brighten with remembrance.
I laugh out hysterically, knowing I'm insane.
Suddenly it's quiet as I remember where the hallway leads.
To the rest of my life, locked up in a white padded room knowing I'm insane.
