Growing

by Brooke Thompson   May 16, 2005

Walking over the thyme and lavender
I sense the world of calm
Silence in the pit of chaos
Beauty in all of the ugliness
Only the living, silent greenery is at peace
Quiet leaves that whisper
Flowers that never scream or shout
Lives of the plants
Quiet, Calm, Whispering

I disagree with Azreal about this poem. There is no need to put forced rhymes into your poetry. Sometimes I much prefer to read poems where the poet has used description rather than forced rhyming. This piece worked well.
