Zanthonie's Song

by Michael D Nalley   May 17, 2005

I dreamed I saw Zanthonie alive as he could be
He was in a glorious place far from you, and me
A beautiful Kingdom of faith, hope, and charity
An angel with more friends to meet in eternity

A Poet Laureate flawlessly flying into open hearts
Singing sweet songs to the souls that love the arts
Not confined by time, never will his love depart
Love not confined by space as it was from the start

In heaven love is so caring and contagious
Doubt, despair, and hate is nothing but outrageous
There is not a praise that an angel would begrudge
To the Creator, an Almighty and just Judge

Even though some doubt there are angels on earth
There is one who has known it since his birth
So many things we learn from the meek and mild
God speaking to us through the mouth of a child

"Hi. My name is Zanthonie. Like Anthony but with a 'Z'. I am 8 years old. I'm turning 9 on September 10. I can't wait. :) I have lung cancer. I might die if they can't remove it. I have surgery in 2 weeks. I'm a little nervous. But I have to do it. I live in Broward County. I love to write poetry. My mom writes poetry too. I have no friends, so I'm always on the net. My mom won't let me get any IM's because she thinks people will be mean to me. I just got an email address now because I needed one to join here. My mom is really protective of me. I love her. Well, thats it. Hope you like my poems."
