Summer Rekindled

by Christopher Liau   May 17, 2005

Oh how I love summer rekindling,
Make a friend but time is dwindling,
I see you there, standing proud,
You loved me once, I wonder how.

I long to recall our summers past,
The ones that felt like they would last,
Our joyful activities, always together,
Float away on wind like feathers.

Love should blossom, how I wish,
But that time has passed, doomed to drift,
The fun we had, all else fades,
Sadness grows, washes over in waves.

Friends we started, friends we end,
Never push for love to mend,
This way is best for all to see,
One regret, you never kissed me.

Oh how I love summer rekindling,
See a past love, time is dwindling,
I see you there, standing proud,
Love, maybe, we shall never know now.
