Stuck in the Middle

by Debra   May 19, 2005

I'm always in the middle
It's always the same
I'm always stuck between you
In your little game

I love how you both tell me
Almost everything
But you have no idea
The hardship it brings

With each event
I hear two sides
My mind is always split
It has to divide

I listen to you both
And agree with each one
But I feel so confused
Wondering what I've done

I go back and forth
Between you two
But don't shoot the messenger
I don't decide what you do

It's not about me
But it's making me weak
I'm being torn in half
But my feelings I never speak

I love you both
So I'll pretend to be fine
Even though it's really making me
Put my own life on the line

I can't back out now
I've been involved for too long
I have to stay where I am
I need to be strong

I don't know what to do anymore
My life's like a riddle
But it certainly is hard
To always be stuck in the middle
