In The Pouring Rain

I got off the bus after school,
Feeling the butterflies in my stomach,
And my knees went weak, with my heart pounding like a drum.
The nearer I got to your house,
The stronger my butterflies grew, the stronger my heart was pounding.
But as I approached your house it looked like nobody was in,
But you were in right?
I carried on and walked up your path, trying to see through your bedroom window.
I knocked on your door, but there was no response.
I waited for a while, then tried again knowing it was just a waste of time.
So I made my way back, and then it began to pour with rain.
I walked home, all alone fighting back my tears,
Trying not to cry.
I felt people staring, maybe they knew what I was feeling.
I know its not your fault,
I'm taking all the blame.
I was just needing to see you smile again,
Needing your arms around me,
Needing you to love me.
And now I'm home I don't have to fight anymore,
So I break down and cry.
It feels so long since I saw you last,
But as weird as it sounds, and though it made me cry,
I'd still wait for you in the pouring rain.
