I Wish I Had The Courage

by Amy   May 20, 2005

I wish I had the courage,
To be what I’m not.
Blinded by dread,
Running without thought.

I wish I had the courage,
To tell you the truth.
My feelings I hide,
In which I waste my youth.

I wish I had the courage,
To confront all my fears.
But all of you’re thoughts,
Keep me in the rear.

I wish I had the courage,
Just to grab the knife.
So I could escape,
And deal with my life.

I wish I had the courage,
To take the big plunge.
Forget all else,
And just jump and lunge.

I wish I had the courage,
To take a quick sniff.
Ignore all the cons,
And just breathe a whiff.

I wish I had the courage,
To just put the needle in.
So what I go to church,
I don’t care if it’s a sin.

I wish I had the courage,
To take a big swig.
Just grab a gulp of water,
And my grave they will dig.

I wish I had the courage,
To tell you all this.
But If I did,
I don’t think I’d be missed.
