Long Lost Mother

by shannon   May 21, 2005

Always I could rely on you
You would help me everyday to get through

On your shoulder I could cry
To make you happy, I would always try

You where more then a Mother to me
You where my eyes to see

You where the twinkle in my eye
And never once to you, did I lie

I always wanted to be like you
All the answers in life, I felt you knew

You where my best friend
And I swore our bond would never end

We where always very close
And that is what I missed the most

But no longer is any of that true
No longer do I have you

Now all we do is fight
And most of the time, you are right

Our family is broken, we do not smile anymore
Something that alone, I can not restore

But today you came in my room and you smiled
Something that that you have not done in awhile

You opened your arms, and told me not to fear
Because my long lost mother, was here

I think this is an okey poem...

The rhymes seem way to forces for my liking, as many of the lines are filled with quite poor English in order to make it rhyme...

It is very straight forward, and lacks something special...

    Keep it up...

off to read more of yours
