Last night we were done talking
But he was still there
After I hung up with you
I looked up and met his glare

He smiled awkwardly
But I could tell he was upset
He looked like he was losing something
A friend, a fight, a bet?

I thought he had left
I asked him what was wrong
He said I change when I talk to you
That he’d never seen my eyes light up so long

I didn’t know what to say
I guess in my heart I knew it was true
I love talking to him,
But I’m never happier than when I talk to you

It was a ton of information in such little time
That this dear neighbor and friend told me
