What happened to the days
when we danced in the lake
and you were my beautiful swan
and we waltzed like angels
in the dewey mountains
our wings above and beyond
what happened to the days
when we sat in the trees
and sang like humming birds
and you held me close
your baby cub
and there wasn't a need for words
these days grow long
like creeping fingers
with memories that never end
of days when you loved me
and then when you left me
falling through your hand
like grains of sand
