You’re on a bend
It may be your biggest struggle
You over come it
And it may be smooth for a while
Keep in mind that looks can be deceiving
Then as soon as you think it’s straight again
There is another twist
Not as bad as the bend
But this may prove to be a little longer
Then life is straight
You have it all held together
You think you finally have it all
But then you lose it
There seems to be another bend in the road of life
But now it is straight
It seems so for a while
Enjoy it now cause coming up is an up hill struggle
Looks are deceiving
Not everything is as straight as it seems
This straight road of life
Does not exist
Life is anything but straight
We’re walking on a winding road
We’re all here for a reason
There’s no exit until the time is right
Some one bought us a one way ticket
There’s no turning back now
We’re dropped off on this winding road
We’re told it’s called life
We learn to walk it with the help of those around us
When we start it all seems straight for a while
But as you continue walking down the different paths of this winding road
You’ll find all sorts of twists and turns and bends
You’ll find and lose
Live and love
So you continue walking
Down this road of life
Stopping and starting at the lights
Then you’ll reach your final destination on the map of life
Where it ends is completely up to you
Even though you have no control over it
But you keep walking
Don’t dare run
You may pass the windows of opportunities
Or you may be running to fast and it’s over too quick
Don’t run and miss out on the scenery this winding road has to offer
Walk, either by yourself
Or with those who decide to stick by you
Those who stick by you decide to make you part of their journey too
Hold onto them tightly
You’ll need them now there’s a ditch in the road of life
So make a decision
The decisions you make today
Will depend on the bends you have to over come tomorrow
Chose wisely
We don’t know what is going to happen next
The future is misty
We cannot see ahead
All is still undecided
The paths on the winding road have not been paved for you
You have to do it yourself
It is undecided
So tomorrow
Look back on the decisions you made today
And smile
You may have overcome another twist or turn or bend
Did you fall into a ditch?
Were you there by yourself?
Or did someone again stand by you
Stop now
Take a breather
Look back the at the winding road of land you have covered
Look back at all the leaps and bounds and the decisions you have made
Are you happy?
Do you feel complete?
Have you learnt to live and love and dance?
Have you learnt to be a friend?
Have you stuck by someone during their own bend in the road of life?
Have you learnt to smile laugh and cry?
Have you felt pain and anger and jealousy?
Which ways did you hurt and suffer?
We all have to learn how to bleed and hurt and suffer
They’re in the rule books of the road of life
They make us stronger when we have to overcome our final bend
Did you touch and laugh and play?
Did you find love and have children?
If you did
The story of the winding road begins again
You place them
Your own flesh and blood
On this winding road
You tell them it’s called life
You teach them all you know
All they need to know
For they will, just as you did face their own bends
This life is a winding road it will continue on forever
We are all put on here for a reason
Have you figured out what yours is?
Some may not until their final turn in the road of life
We all have our own stories
Each different to the next
Different faces
Different music
Different lies
Different personalities
Each of us questioning faith and love and friends
We all answer our own questions
Who we love the most
Who had the biggest effect on us?
Did we do everything we wanted to do?
What is your biggest regret?
Who stuck by you from the beginning?
Until now
Until the very end
Remember these people
Tell them you love them as you come close the next bend
Because after that
Your long journey on the winding road has to come to an end
But the decisions you make yesterday
Set the path for somebody else tomorrow
Life is not just a walk or run of leaps and trips and bounds and bends and twists and turns
Life is a journey not a destination
