Closest stranger

by penny   May 22, 2005

My friends don’t even know me - They just see the show I display
Not one person knows the rhythm of my heart
Not one person knows the routine of my day

None of them considers that I sit alone and cry
Wishing a little each day
Wishing to die
Wishing to slip away

There’s no one who knows the full extent of filth
For me a tear is never shed
Rolling tears staining my wrist
Not a soul can begin to understand, the hurt inside my head

Always happy, a smile to brighten your day
Not a single person can see the cracks within
Wandering through this war of regret
The word as it always will be is ‘thin’

Wow...I am truly blown away. It's really a touching poem and you should be extremely proud of yourself. You deserve way more than a 4/5 on this poem! p.s. if you ever want to talk about things, if the hurt is too much, stop by my profile and e-mail me, okay?
    Luv always, KT
