Tonight

by Knight_of_Blackrose   May 23, 2005

Laying here tonight
This clarity out of sight
I finally realize everything will be alright

I've finally begun to comprehend
That everything that has happened in the past must come to an end
So you can stop trying to pretend

Sitting here tonight
No more visions of malcontent
Your reign has come to an end

I finally understand
Your feelings were all a facade
It really was hard to see

Walking here tonight
Solid ground has hit my feet
My only bridge is now ablaze
There is no going back to darker days

I'm climbing this emotional ladder tonight
Trying to believe that this time I won't fall

Holding on to see if love can keep me aloft
No longer looking for the fall

Grasping for the hand that holds contentment
Hoping that it will grasp mine

I'm letting go tonight, of all the preconceived
Letting go to see how long I can float above it all
Letting go, of the past that ravaged me

To find a brighter life

A life that is worth sharing with someone else, the good and the bad

Tonight, I hope for contentment
Tonight, I will let my emotions lead me where they may
