We are the jewels of the Sudan,
We who know something
About the squalor
In which we live;
We who are not respected
Even though we know
Because we have no money;
We who are not always ignored
Even though we have no money,
Because we are strong;
We who are feared
Even though we are young
Because we truly are strong.
