Promised Love

by RCM   May 24, 2005

Loving, caring, missing you
None of this can you misconstrue.
Wanting, touching, holding you
All of these things I love to do.
To smell your hair, to touch your face
To hold you near in a warm embrace,
So much more but one things for sure
I love you completely with all my heart
And dread the times that we’re apart.
If I could, if you would,
Promise me the things you should.
Don’t promise love for evermore
Or say the words when you're not sure
Just promise me love while you can
All your affection, don’t pretend.
Love is a choice, same with the way I feel
And right at this moment what I feel is real.
Tell me you love me, say that you care,
Say that you miss me when I’m not there,
Show me these things let me see your heart
Hold me and kiss me, become a part
You are my world, my earth and stars
The place I belong, who we are.
Life is for living, but not alone
And somehow it seems that I’ve always known
You hold my heart we are meant to be
Maybe with luck for all eternity.
