The Coming Battle

by Brad Champagne   May 24, 2005

The troops are mounting day by day,
And not is seen this wide array,
For these warriors are not of human birth,
But of Heaven and Hell, and of great worth.

The line is drawn across the land,
And evil's forces begin to band
As the captain arrives in the still of night
To prepare for the long awaited fight.

Three people there are who know this plot,
And their souls and strength are those which are sought.
Preparing for battle, and praying for peace,
They wait for the floodgate the throng to release.

When three they have gathered, the storm will begin
With a vaporous breeze, not a hurricane wind.
Should their strength hold, and their courage prevail,
Then, perhaps, in this war they shall not fail.

This place was once safe, and left unaware
Of the forces here, and the spirit's warfare.
But the time has come to unveil the might
Of the Father's power, of truth and light.

Angel and demon on earth will wage war
For the strength of our warriors and their valor.
In times such as these, allies are still few
For not many this path of danger pursue.

The lines are drawn and the day is set;
There is coming a battle that none will forget.
Should they survive such an onslaught so feared
Then the greatest conflict is to yet be endeared.

With grace of God, and his loving embrace,
This peril undaunted they willingly face.
For if they should die, then promoted they'll be
To once again join the angels in God's company.

Thank you, Erin. I try not to write in first person, so this one was a little rough.
