Lonely Scarecrow

by Swallowed by Death   May 24, 2005

Tall scarecrow,
You look so sad there all alone,
Straw wobbles as the wind blows,
None of your feelings are shone,
Face of sorrow; heart of stone.

You keep all at a distance,
You scare hungry creatures away,
Some days you ponder your own existence,
But still around you stay,
Only in the breeze do you sway.

You stand all day by your lonesome,
You hope and pray for a friend,
Or at least for someone else to come,
Too lonely to scare or to tend,
You just wish this nightmare would end.
