A simple book

by katie!   May 24, 2005

A simple book, words spilled onto the page
Where the world can read the authors creation
Turn each crinkled piece of paper to read the tales
Sitting at a bus stop, reading, or at a train station

Absorbed in the plot of this child of a genius
Written over days, weeks, months even years
A story unfolds before the readers eyes, an escape
Envelop yourself in this characters smiles and tears

A simple book, tea stains and biscuit crumbs
Hours of reading lie in store, for so many people
Lost in translations of the mind of one person
Explained, standing high, atop the steeple

Maimed a scarred, by the criticism for the piece of gold
All the sweat and blood poured into this read
Walk along the paths, pick the flowers
A depressed person, a happy person all with one need

A simple book, pulls you in with sophistication
Have to turn one more page, a way to be free
Dance with the lovers, sing along to the folk lore
Dance among the angels, a simple book meant the world to me
