Heart Ripped From Soul

You can steal my heart
but you'll never have my soul
i shattered into a million pieces
i broke apart at my core

i don't understand why it happened
or even how i let it
all i know is that my heart was broken
my joy to live, feel to my despair for death

it is like a dagger in your back
continually stabbing, until you bleed out
you pass out from the numbing pain
an experience like no other you can feel

its like a thousand words i could never say
a thousand more i want to
flesh eating pain no joy of relief

when you stop eating for fear of pollution
or really because you just can't handle food
or is it the tears that leak down your face
or the crimson ones that follow

to know the feeling is to loath it
the unbearable a reality
friendship really doesn't cover it
being blamed for something you didn't do
you had no part in to make it clear

if someone ripped out my heart and ate it
at least i wouldn't feel
because being treated like a doll was worse
this doll has real feelings her emotions her words all real

I'll go about my day as normal

for i have imprinted on you

two souls apart and then together
back and forth we go
intertwined our words once were
we shared a heart we felt together
but our words no longer come from our hearts or even souls

so i found my hole again

consumed by every black thought i have

compelling words no longer hold me
