Whose the person in the coffin looking back at me?

by Jacob Emery   May 25, 2005

I walk up to the coffin
Somethings turning inside of me
All i see are people crying
Asking why the young ones are the ones dying
I see my friends
only they are a little more quiet
Everythings silent
except for the mourning i hear
And watch as every tear falls to the floor
Obituaries are being handed out left and right
People i know are now everywhere in sight
Im biting my lip and gripping my fist with all my might
As i look in to the casket to see who lies there
To see who everyone misses so much
The touch i feel is icy cold
This was what i was always told about death
My eyes open wide
as i look inside
To see whats looking back
Im completely in shock
I cant believe my eyes
This has to be the biggest surprise
How can it be
That this is what i see
The person lying in the coffin is me
