I wear a mask

by Liz   May 25, 2005

I wear a mask, for protection,
No-one knows what lies beneath,
I hide from the world my intentions,
I must grin and bear it, grit my teeth,
I wear a mask of happiness and love,
Under the surface is anger and pain,
Inside is my raven, outside is my dove,
Outside is the sun, inside is the rain,
I wear a mask for your protection,
You know not of my rage towards you,
I protect you from my true intentions,
I wear a mask, and you don\'t have a clue.
