One broken friendship

How did we end up like this?
i never thought that it could be
we were both so happy
so joyful and carefree

we used to joke and laugh
always we were together
i thought our friendship was strong
one that would last forever

but then you found out my secret
and i found out your lie
everything started coming out
and one friendship started to die

we carried on like it was okay
the smiles we wore were fake
we kept this up for so long
that we both were ready to break

so where do we go from here,
do we go back to the start?
is there any way to fix
one broken friendship, two broken hearts..?

    Wow! This really relates to an issue I'm having right now. I used to be so close to one of my friends but then the little things that I started finding out made every action she made seem like she was purposely hurting me. Even though there was so much tension, neither of us would let the other know how we felt. I really like this poem because it relate to it so well and it can be applied to many problems other people could be having in a friendship. Well I hope everything works out for you.
