Daddy, it's me (really sad..)

by alasse   May 25, 2005

How could you walk straight ahead
when you knew you had left behind
your two precious daughters,
your ultimate lifeline.
You heard them crying, you heard them scream
"Daddy, please don't go.."
So how could you? You left them all alone.
Think back on how you walked away
on how you couldn't see
your daughters crying, praying
'daddy, please don't leave'
all you could ever think of
was looking straight ahead
you were afraid to look back
you thought your past was dead.
And now its been almost two years,
daddy can't you see?
I'm standing right infront of you
"Daddy, it's me.."
Mommy used to tell me
"Daddy doesn't care"
But I refuse to believe
that you were never there.
I refuse to believe
you have never heard me cry.
Daddy, don't say you don't love me
Daddy, please don't lie.
Now I'm standing infront of you
& you're walking away
just like you did two years ago
"Daddy, it's me." I say.
The man turns around & looks her in the eye
But then he starts to walk away
& then she starts to cry.
But what the little girl would never know,
was that her dad was crying too
he whispered softly to himself
"Baby, i love you."
