The Beach in Waikiki

by M J U   May 25, 2005

I was sitting on the beach in Waikiki
when this pretty girl smiled over at me.
I went over to where she lay in the sand
told her my name, then took her by the hand.
We walked along the beach in Waikiki.
It seemed like love on the beach in Waikiki.

We found a spot to watch the sunset.
The evening was young, still more to happen, yet.
I kissed her as the sun went down
and touched her skin, it was a golden brown.
We sat on the beach in Waikiki.
It seemed like love on the beach in Waikiki.

Night soon fell and the stars came out.
There's not much more I can tell you about.
She caught her flight when the morning came
and that's when I knew I'd never see her again.
I cried on the beach in Waikiki.
I thought it was love on the beach in Waikiki.

**Many years ago but always a fond memory. Comments appreciated as always...especially from those who have had these vacation loves.
