Didn't Feel Myself Fall..

by shannon   May 25, 2005

You yell at me, I yell back
Once again, another verbal attack

The yelling is growing louder as we battle this out
Now our yelling has grown into violent shouts

Never before have I seen you like this
My old Daddy, I truly miss

Lately you have been filled with true hate
And to save you, I feel it is already too late

Done with fighting, I slowly turned around and walked away
I felt that I had nothing left to say

I had raised my white flag to you to show you I was through,
But that was not enough for you

You got up and ran after me
The anger in you was all I could see

Finally you had corned me in
And when I saw the rage in your eyes, I knew this was a battle I was not about to win

Mom ran after you with her eyes filled with tears
Both her and I, had the same fears

She grabbed you and tried to hold you back
Because we both knew you were about to attack

But your rage had turned into power and you were too strong
She thought she could hold you back, but she was wrong

“I’m sorry” she whispered, and then at that moment I knew I was in great harm
Suddenly a throbbing pain over came my arm

You squeezed it so tight in your hand
The pain I was in, I felt that you would never understand

You picked me up and threw me against the wall
The pain was so great that I didn’t feel myself fall

I hit the ground and blackness was all I could see
Is this how my end and final moment would be?

I prayed to the angels to take me away
Because here, down with him, I did not want to stay

I asked them please just grant me one last wish
To tell a message to all those whom I would miss

To tell my mom I was sorry for all I had put her through
And that I loved her so much and that I only wish she knew

Soon I awoke from my deep sleep
And I realized that my life, I was not going to be able to keep

The silence at the moment was ever so clear
And when I heard it I had no fears

All I could hear was the rain pouring down
I looked over, and by my side, my mother was found

I was unable you speak so all you could hear was the echo of the rain
As I watched my blood gather around me, and no longer was I in pain.
