Leave It All Behind

by ntv650   May 26, 2005

Was asked to leave it all behind.

But Ive got a thread of your hair on my shirt.
A scent of you still staining me.
The memory of your laugh.
A handful of promises I’m going to keep.

Ive even got a picture I keep in my wallet.
Some attached to my bedroom wall.
Every letter you sent I’ve kept.
Little bits of you all stashed in a draw.

Couldnt let it go, all the precious memories I made,
Too much pain from being suddenly betrayed
Didn’t want to loose your tender lips.
Or see that everything I knew was lost like the sun in a dark eclipse.
