Tears

The tears I've cried have been in vain
They have never taken away the pain
Of a child lost in the rain
Of a storm that will not end
So she is left alone to fend
With no memories of the calm before
Just a deep pain in the core
Of a heart with a hole that will never been filled
Because of a man who was killed
By his own actions, by his own will
With no thought of those for which he was supposed to care
With no thoughts of the burdens he would leave to bear
To the kids he left behind
With lives that will never be the same
With lives that will be filled with pain
So the tears I've cried have been in vain
